Julia Achkinazy was born on 12 June 1979 in St.Petersburg (Russia). She began to play the piano - stimulated by her mother - at the age of four. From her fifth age on she followed the lessons in the musicschool in her hometown and started her first public performances. Julia was as eleven years old winner of the "first Tchaikovsky Leningrad Competition for young pianists". Hereafter many concert invitations followed abroad : Finland, England, Germany and Austria.

 

In 1992 Julia was admitted to the piano department of the Music Lyceum of the St Petersburg Conservatory. She got lessons from the renowned professor Marina Wolf. In those years Julia tourned to England and the United States: New York, Philadelphia, Lenox. After her education at the Music Lyceum (1992-1996) Julia studied at the Rimsky Korsakov Conservatory in St. Petersburg. Her mentors there were Alexander Sandler and Professor Valery Vishnevsky. During her study, Julia participated in solo and orchestral performances in Russia and abroad.

Julia gave concerts in several large and small concertpodia in St-Petersburg, like Hermitage Theater; Large and Small Philharmonic Hall; several palaces and churches; Weimar- F. Liszt Museum; London-Town Hall; Hamburg-Philarmonic Hall; Lenox-Artists Festival of Nancy Goldberg “Belvoir Terrase”; Conservatory tour in USA: Philadelphia and New York.

 

In 1999 Julia became Diplomant of the "International Competition Jeunesses" in Belgrado; this competition was unfortunately interrupted by the Balkan war. In the same year she was successful in two other piano contests: in Weimar, Germany she won the "Special Liszt Prize" and in St. Petersburg the 1st prize in the Chopin Competition. In this period Julia received private lessons of the world famous pianist and pedagogue Lazar Berman. Julia finished her study in 2002 and joined the "post-graduate" study at the forenamed conservatory with Professor Stanislav Igolinsky. She performed in Amsterdam, Utrecht, Eindhoven, Zeist, The Hague and den Bosch. She joined the Sweelinck Conservatory in Amsterdam for a Masters degree study in Professor Naum Grubert`s class. In 2008 she was invited as piano teacher at Bechstein Piano Education the Netherlands. Julia became the big winner during the Final 2008-2009 of the popular concert series in den Bosch and was invited as a special guest at the ”Piano Garden festival” of pianist Wibi Soerjadi at the Wulperhorst estate in Zeist.

In 2010 she received her diploma at the Sweelinck Conservatory and recorded two new CD’s. Effacta Productions BV has decided to admit her from September 2011 to their impresariat. 

Recently she recorded a DVD "My Music, My Dream".

During the development of her career she followed master classes from famous musicians like Peter Waas (Germany), Lazar Berman (Germany), Leon Fleisher (USA), Antonio Baroni (USA), Vladimir Tropp (Netherlands), Geoffrey Madge (Netherlands).

In November 2012 Julia gave with great success a Concert at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam.

From 2013 she started a large series of new Piano Duo Concerts with Pianist and Conductor Bernhard Touwen.  

After special collaboration with famous Dutch Artist - Gertrud Derksen in 2015 appeared first Julia`s Cd as a composer.

This new Cd dedicated to the paintings of Gertrud Derksen.

 

In 2015 Julia became founder of "International Piano Art Academy" in the Netherlands.

 

September 2018 became overwhelming success at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam! This concert was dedicated to Russian legendary genious Master Pianist Vladimir Sofronitsky. Live Cd "Visionair en virtuoos Piano Recital" from the Concertgebouw Amsterdam is already available on the web site!

 

In 2021 followed new big solo concert of Julia at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam - "Love & Eternity". From this concert was made live Cd which contains pieces of Bach,Chopin and Liszt.

Among other recitals of the 2022 year special attention deserves Julia collaboration with conductor Lex Bergink and Chopin Concerto n2 which was twice performed at the Grote Kerk in `s-Hertogenbosch.
